MetaLINCS Experiences Rapid Customer Growth and Receives Positive Rating from Leading Analyst Firm

Santa Clara, Calif. — April 3, 2008 — MetaLINCS, a Seagate Technology (NYSE:STX) company, today announced that rising demand for its electronic data discovery software is driving rapid customer adoption, business expansion and industry recognition, culminating in the acquisition by Seagate in December 2007. MetaLINCS software, which is part of the Seagate Services Group, grew its Fortune 100 customer base by more than 100 percent in the past year, and is expanding North American sales efforts to support the demand for the MetaLINCS Enterprise E-Discovery Suite by opening a new sales office in Atlanta, Georgia. MetaLINCS now has six offices in North America.

MetaLINCS also received a "Positive" rating in Gartner's "MarketScope for E-Discovery and Litigation Support Vendors, 2007."¹ According to Gartner, companies receiving a "Positive" rating "demonstrate strength in specific areas, but execution in one or more areas may still be developing or inconsistent with other areas of performance" and recommends that potential customers "consider this vendor a viable choice for strategic or tactical investments, while planning for known limitations."
