MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif.,—Oct. 18, 2005—MetaLINCS™, a leading provider of Electronic Discovery software, today announced the U.S. Department of Justice and Fenwick & West, LLP are conducting pilots of MetaLINCS E-Discovery application in an effort to expedite discovery processes and gain a better understanding of electronic information in context. Fenwick & West is using the MetaLINCS platform for client cases, while the Department of Justice is piloting the software for use in corporate oversight and enforcement actions. The MetaLINCS E-Discovery application, featuring the industry's first guided analysis software, speeds up the process of discovering relevant information within electronic messages and documents, significantly reducing litigation and compliance risks.
"Our clients need an Electronic Discovery process that yields quick and accurate case assessment," said Matthew Kesner, chief technology officer of Fenwick and West, LLP. "Being at the forefront of applying E-Discovery technology, we have evaluated many possible solutions. MetaLINCS provides a packaged product for analyzing electronic documents and conducting discovery that is both easier-to-use and more powerful than other solutions we have found."
"The sheer amount of electronic evidence can be overwhelming to large organizations," said Ramon Nunez, CEO of MetaLINCS. "MetaLINCS provides investigators with a structured environment in which they can quickly and easily find critical information. Through guided analysis, these organizations can move beyond simple keyword searches to quickly uncover the relationships between people, events, time and communication patterns."
This year alone, companies will spend over $5.7 billion in expenses related to E-Discovery. Analysis is the most critical aspect of the E-Discovery process, yet most organizations continue to rely on manual review of each document supported only by conventional text search techniques for gathering topical information. Law firms and corporate attorneys spend countless hours and dollars manually analyzing email and documents or outsource analysis to costly service providers. These manual processes are not only time-intensive and expensive, they often miss critical evidence. MetaLINCS is the first and only software application to automate analysis for E- Discovery and provide accurate early case assessment. E-Discovery teams using MetaLINCS achieve unmatched productivity, accuracy and consistency.

Much of the information buried within the email messages of large corporate trials has remained inaccessible due to slow, error-prone manual review processes. MetaLINCS makes E-Discovery faster and more efficient, enabling investigators and corporate counsel to gain an early, accurate assessment of all electronic documents.”
