MetaLINCS Support for E-Discovery Standards Body Aims to Highlight Key Role of Automated Analysis

MetaLINCS Joins Other Industry Leaders in Supporting Renewed EDRM Initiative to Drive Standards for More Effective E-Discovery Practices

SAN JOSE, Calif.,—June 12, 2007—MetaLINCS, the leading provider of analysis-powered E-Discovery software for litigation readiness and compliance-related investigations, today announced its renewed support for the Electronic Discovery Reference Model (EDRM) Project. Building upon its contributions as a founding member of EDRM in 2005, MetaLINCS will continue to strongly support the group‘s stated goal of providing a common framework for the development, selection, evaluation and use of E-Discovery products and services, with particular focus on the critical and growing role played by advanced analysis and search technology. In 2006, calling upon its deep expertise in utilizing metadata and content analysis techniques for discerning knowledge from large bodies of collected documents and email messages, MetaLINCS made a significant contribution to the specification describing the Analysis Node of the initial EDRM Model.

"We welcome MetaLINCS’ continuing contributions to the EDRM Project as we advance an aggressive and important agenda to solidify E-Discovery best practices that will benefit corporate litigants, law firms, the judiciary and the vendor community at large," said George Socha, industry analyst and EDRM Project Manager. "As one of the technology leaders in the area of analysis and search, MetaLINCS will continue to play a key role in emerging areas such as early case assessment and the automated analysis of electronic documents and emails."

About EDRM:

Launched in May 2005, the Electronic Discovery Reference Model (EDRM) Project was created to address the lack of standards and guidelines in the electronic discovery market — a problem identified in the 2003 and 2004 Socha-Gelbmann Electronic Discovery surveys as a major concern for vendors and consumers alike. Much of the information buried within the email messages of large corporate trials has remained inaccessible due to slow, error-prone manual review processes. MetaLINCS makes E-Discovery faster and more efficient, enabling investigators and corporate counsel to gain an early, accurate assessment of all electronic documents.”
