SAN JOSE, Calif.,-August 22, 2006- MetaLINCS™, a leading provider of packaged E-Discovery software for litigation readiness, regulatory and internal investigations and corporate security initiatives today announced that it has been selected by Symantec Corp. (Nasdaq: SYMC) as a founding participant in the company’s newly created E-Discovery Partner Program. Symantec announced the program yesterday in support of its official launch of Enterprise Vault Discovery Accelerator 6.0, which extends the basic search functionality of the Symantec Enterprise Vault™ e-mail and file archiving software.
The Symantec E-Discovery Partner Program was created to provide APIs for Enterprise Vault and Discovery Accelerator to leading third-party legal software and e-mail analysis vendors. Customers whose inside or outside counsel use these tools will be able to quickly and easily pass data from Enterprise Vault Discovery Accelerator to their preferred tools.
The MetaLINCS E-Discovery Application, which features the industry’s first guided analysis technology, will enable Symantec customers to speed up the process of discovering relevant information within electronic messages and documents, and improve the speed and accuracy of investigations. Particularly powerful is the software’s ability to enable early analysis of electronically stored business content to quickly locate important information exchanges between key players across multiple organizations without having to review each document or email.
“Symantec is providing much needed industry leadership with its E-Discovery Partner Program by extending the power and value of their customers’ investment in Symantec Enterprise Vault and Symantec Enterprise Vault Discovery Accelerator,” said Ramon Nunez, CEO of MetaLINCS. “MetaLINCS is proud to be a founding participant in this effort and we look forward to working with Symantec and its customers to address the growing challenges around E-Discovery.
“E-Discovery is now the most costly component of the corporate legal and investigatory process, and as it grows in complexity, the associated costs and risks continue to soar. The ability to analyze electronically stored information at the earliest stages of a case can reveal important information quickly, reducing overall e-discovery costs by as much as 75%. Such early insight can inform initial strategic decision-making and drive more favorable case and investigatory outcomes.”

Much of the information buried within the email messages of large corporate trials has remained inaccessible due to slow, error-prone manual review processes. MetaLINCS makes E-Discovery faster and more efficient, enabling investigators and corporate counsel to gain an early, accurate assessment of all electronic documents.”
