May 21: Preparing for a Meet and Confer Session
Litigation today requires that substantial amounts of electronic information be exchanged between the parties. Early on, the litigants must get together for a Meet and Confer session. There, they decide what electronic information will be exchanged between the parties, and according to what schedule. It is important to be well prepared for the Meet and Confer session. Topics include: What should be in the systems map, what type of information is likely to be considered excessively burdensome to produce, what questions should be asked to determine relevant information, reducing the costs of production and how the FRCP are likely to vary at the local level.

June 4: Electronic Discovery: Helping General Counsel Understand IT's Role
In-house and external legal teams understand that IT now has an important role in e-discovery, but the details of the role are often unclear. In this webinar, we discuss IT's role and how general counsel can optimize its relationship with IT. Topics discussed include: responsibilities to be assumed by IT in e-discovery, the most difficult problems that arise when IT and general counsel work together, explaining the GC's role to IT staff, best practices for productive IT/general counsel collaboration, and the biggest headaches for IT in its e-discovery role.
